Tháng 5/2014, Tổ chức Hàng Hải quốc tế (IMO), Ủy ban an toàn Hàng Hải (MSC) đã phê duyệt điều luật An Toàn Sinh Mạng Trên Biển (Safety of Life at Sea – SOLAS) trong đó yêu cầu chủ hàng phải khai báo và xác minh trọng lượng của container, đặc biệt là hàng nguy hiểm và hàng là chất rắn. Chủ hàng phải xác minh trọng lượng của container trước khi chất hàng lên tàu. Điều luật này bắt buộc sẽ được áp dụng từ 1/7/2016.

The Vietnam Customs Statistics announced that in the first half (01-15/11/2015) of  November-2015, Vietnam’s total exports of  US dollars 6.49 billion and imports  of  US dollars 6.77 billion resulted in a trade deficit of US dollars 273 million. Accordingly, the total value of export and import turnover of Vietnam in the first half of November was US dollars 13.26 billion, drop by 12.1%  as compared to the second half of October-2015.

National one-door customs mechanism launched

The national one-door customs mechanism was officially launched at ports in five localities, namely Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Da Nang, HCM City and Ba Ria-Vung Tau, on May 6.

Under the mechanism, all businesses operating in the field of sea transport will complete procedures relating to exit and entry activities and sea vessels in transit as well as freight information at the national one-door portal https://www.vnsw.gov.vn

Foreign shipping firms oppose freight-fee declaration

In a document to the Prime Minister and the ministries’ heads, the legal representatives of shipping firms Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), CMA CGM, APL and Neptune Oriel Lines (NOL) called on management agencies to ‘consider the draft decision thoroughly’.

The shipping firms said their business operations would be seriously affected.

The draft decision says enterprises must make public freight and port service fees, and must inform the Vietnam Maritime Bureau (Vinamarine) 30 days in advance if they want to adjust fee levels.
